Something's been bugging me lately and I need to put my thoughts to words. Actually a lot of things bug me lately, but this one became too much of annoyance not to voice. 'You can only adopt if you draw it' Or anything along the lines of that, it bugs me... Like Some people adopt things because they can't do the art themselves. Some people don't like their art very much so they commission people to draw it for them, or adopt things so they don't have to. Just because a person doesn't draw it themselves doesn't mean the adopt goes to waste. Sure, I've know some people to adopt something and then never use it, but that doesn't mean everyone is going to do it.

Plus, to hound them if they don't draw it in a timely fashion that suits your fancy. Um, people have things to do you know. Life outside the internet, jobs, family, other friends. Some even have art that might take priority over drawing an adopt. Don't get on their case if they don't get it done on your warped sense of time limits. Don't say you'll take it back if they do. It might only be DA points they bought it with, but they still BOUGHT it. You can't take something back for some stupid reason like that.

I really think twice about adopting things when this is the case. I've adopted so many things, and it does take me a while to draw them. I procrastinate, but who doesn't? But I love them just as much as any character I would design myself. I will get to it. It just takes time. If you rush someone to draw it sooner then later they won't take their time with it. They won't be able to absorb the character. Design it to perfection until they love and care for it even more. Everything I adopt becomes a part of me, they're my babies that I've given life to. That stuff takes time. So give us our time so we can create magic with the things we buy. It's only fair...

I agree! I'm a person who adopts a lot and with doing commissions for people along with real life things, it can be hard to draw what I've adopted in a timely fashion. I do kind of see where they're coming from when asking people to draw them that way they know for sure they aren't going to waste, but it is still something that was bought, and if someone wants to buy them and not use them in a certain way that's their prerogative.
